The Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida is pleased to announce that the final total raised for the ninth annual WINK News Feeds Families Hunger Walk is $321,600.
This is a 5.4 percent increase over last year’s total of $305,000. At least 1,000 walkers, young and old, let their feet do the walking to help feed the hungry Jan. 21 at the Miromar Outlets in Estero. The two-mile family and pet-friendly walk is the food bank’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
“Last Saturday, a huge crowd from every walk of life came together to raise money to feed our hungry neighbors,” said Richard LeBer, food bank president and CEO. “We are overwhelmed at the support, which makes our work possible.”
